Hey guys, as you may have guessed this weeks theme is celebrity scandals! Now I know this is a topic that may be over done but I just can't get passed it. As you see from the title I'm talking about the college admissions scandal involving Lori Loughlin.
Lori Loughlin, who we all know and love primarily from 'Full House' as Aunt Becky, who later reprised her role on the Netflix spin-off series, 'Fuller House,' is one of the 50 people who have been charged for the college admissions scandal, others include Felicity Huffman, and William Rick Singer.
Personally, I was completely shocked by the news. According to CNN, the whole cheating scandal was orchestrated by William Rick Singer, a CEO of 'The Key,' a college admissions prep company. Loughlin had allegedly paid $500,000 to have her kids listed as recruits for the USC crew team, which neither children have ever been apart of prior. This was so that her kids would receive automatic acceptance to the elite school. Photos have since been brought to the publics' attention that have been transposed to make it look like her daughters were actually apart of the team.
Loughlin has since been taken into custody and released on a $1M bond. Her daughters have both dropped out of USC since the news and have no intentions of returning. Many deals with the family have since been dropped as well. Olivia Jade, Loughlins daughter has since been dropped from her make-up line deal with Sephora, a well-known make up company. Loughlin has also been dropped from her show with the Hallmark Channel, 'When Calls the Heart,' and has also been written out of the final season of 'Fuller House.'
See the video explaining how the whole thing unfolded here.
